A decade of birthdays...

First there was one candle...

then two was so sweet.

With three came Nemo...

But a little sister at four, nothing could beat.

At five you brought your own style...

And six there was one less tooth in your smile...

Seven and eight came and went so fast...

Nine was simply a blast.

Now so beautiful and smart at ten...we find ourselves remembering when.

Happy Birthday Emily Susanne!

Six plus years of being a big sister...

And what an amazing big sister you are. You hear stories about the older sibling that asks mom and dad to take the baby back. After having us all to yourself for three and a half years, you didn't, even for a second, question the addition to our family. You've been looking out for her ever since and she adores you for it.

A decade in fast forward...

In preparation for Emily's 10th birthday, I've been going through her baby pictures. The whole process has made me extremely sentimental so I will dedicate this week to sharing some of my favorite sweet Emily Susanne photos. Starting with her beginnings as a peanut...

Samoas and Thin Mints and Trefoils, Oh My!

It's cookie season now and I'm cookie mom again. 255 cases of cookies were in our garage last Sunday. That's 3,060 boxes of cookies to be exact. Need a fix...drop on by.

Unexpected visitors

Just a typical afternoon in the neighborhood. These hot air balloons just made quite a stir in our neighborhood. With their unique "wooosh" sounds, they were heard before they were seen.

Then they got closer...

and closer...

until it looked like the second one wasn't going to clear our single-story roof.

and they were close enough we could visit with them.

The kids were preparing a strategy to catch them...

then they started to get some lift...

and they were up and on their way again.

The results of a productive day

Five hours, two trash bags, one bag of donated clothes and a bunch of stuff to donate to our church's rummage sale and Megan's room is once again clean and organized.

I should have done a before picture!

Modern day spectacles

Emily got a new pair of glasses. She loves to pick the ones that have a decorative side. This pair has crescent moon and little stars. I'm thankful glasses are much more stylish now for kids than they were in my day, don't you agree?
