This morning's dialogue with the seven year old that has been counting down the days until October.
Me: "Since it's October 1st, would you like to wear a Halloween t-shirt to school today?"
Em: [In a dejected tone], "Fine."
Me: "What's the matter?"
Em: "I just wish Halloween wasn't still 30 days away. I mean, it's great that it's on a Friday and all, but why couldn't they have it on the 24th?"
